Project options & prices
We offer many tiers of service ranging from flat-fee projects (such as a simple templated website), to negotiated fee customized projects (such as creating a Logo or a hand-made website). This page will walk you through the basics including prices.
As artists, we strive to make all our prices affordable for you, our fellow artist!
Free first consultation
Let’s get to know each other.
Tell us about your project. Is it a website or a print piece like a CD cover, a sales brochure, or a business card?
What is your image and how will this project enhance that?
What is your time frame, your budget?
And, of course, it is important to us that you are comfortable with who we are and how we operate, that you understand what the steps are to complete a project, and that you are clear on what it will all cost.
Part of the free consultation includes a review of the elements you want included in your project such as photos and text, etc. Which means, of course, that you need to provide those items to us very early on in the process.
The path to design delight
Click below on the type of possible project options you are embarking upon.
Flat-fee, basic templated website with up to three pages
Basic websites generally include a Banner (also known as a “Hero”) section, a Header, a Side Bar, the main Content section, Menu, and a Footer.
We will work with the website building software of your choice, such as WordPress, Wix, SquareSpace, etc., and modify the template’s colors, typefaces, etc. to fit into your existing brand’s style.
When you ask us to create a Basic website for you, to fully assess what types of template might work for you we need to receive your content. (Text, images / sound files / video files and / or links.)
Based upon our discussions with you and a review of your content, we will offer you some template style options to choose between.
Once you authorize us to use a specific template, on receipt of your fifty percent deposit, we will send you a “First Draft” PDF file for your approval or changes / revisions requests.
On receipt of your final approval of the design, we will create your new website.
Please note that for delivery of the site, we need to receive your balance payment. And, of course, we need info on your Domain Name ISP and / or your Site Hosting ISP along with your FTP site’s User ID and Password (the FTP site is where you will load your site’s elements).
We are happy to suggest some of those service providers.
Our flat fee price for a one to three page Basic website is $750 with an additional $250 for each extra page.
Once your site is up and running, we are happy to update your content for a small negotiated fee and if you anticipate making regular updates, we can discuss a monthly servicing fee.
If you prefer maintaining updates on your own, we are happy to provide an hour of basic training on Zoom and a PDF sheet on how to handle this task on your own.

Flat-fee, semi-customized templated website with up to five pages
Templated websites generally include a Banner (also known as a “Hero”) section, a Header, a Side Bar, the main Content section, a Menu, and a Footer.
We will work with the website building software of your choice, such as WordPress, Wix, SquareSpace, etc. We can also offer you templates that we have created. In either case, we will modify the template’s colors, typefaces, etc. to fit into your existing brand’s style.
When you ask us to create a Basic website for you, to fully assess what types of template might work for you we need to receive your content. (Text, images / sound files / video files and / or links.)
Based upon our discussions with you, a review of your content, and discussing what modifications to make to the Basic template, we will offer you some template style options to choose between.
A semi-customized design generally means that you have requested some aspect of the Basic template to be altered in a significant way, such as by adding a Logo that you request us to design for you.

Custom hand-coded websites
We hand-code custom built websites so that each is unique in appearance and addresses your content needs as well as your image goals. Moreover, hand-coding ensures “light” pages that download far faster than templated sites which contain tons of generalized and unnecessary code.
Hand-coded websites can also avoid the hacking dangers to which a non-maintained templated site is inherently vulnerable. This is especially the case for many “Free” template sites.
Another advantage of our hand-coded websites is that we stay current with changes in the CSS / HTML coding world and we are thus able to provide you with cutting-edge “plumbing”.
When you ask us to create a custom website for you, to fully assess what types of designs might work for you we need to receive your content. (Text, images / sound files / video files and / or links.)
Based upon our discussions with you and a review of your content, we will offer you a number of “pencil sketch” options for you to consider.
At that point, together you and we will negotiate a flat fee price and a turn-around time.
On receipt of your final approval of the design and a fifty percent deposit, we will create your new website.
For custom websites, we provide thirty (30) days of support (between 10 AM and 5 PM, Central Standard Time on business days) for $500. This includes five hours total of Zoom consultation. We aim to make your experience as easy as it can be.
If you prefer maintaining updates on your own, we are happy to provide an hour of basic training on Zoom and a PDF sheet on how to handle this task on your own.

Print pieces
When you ask us to create a print piece for you, to fully assess what types of designs might work for you we need to receive your content. (Text and images.)
Generally speaking, upon consulation with you about your goals (the consultation is free), we will offer you a number of “pencil sketch” options for you to consider.
We will negotiate with you a flat fee price (our normal hourly rate is $50 dollars) that depends upon the number of separate individual pieces required, their complexity, the turn-around speed requested, and any extra elements, such as a Logo, that you want us to create.
On receipt of your final approval of the draft designs and a fifty percent deposit, we will create your artwork and electronically deliver a PDF “Proof” of each item.
On receipt of your final approval of the Proofs and the remainder of our fee, we will deliver the final artwork items to you electronically unless a different mode of delivery is otherwise needed. Postage fees for physical delivery will be added to the total cost of the project.
Please note that we presume you have a printer in mind. We are happy (prefer) to interface with your printer to make sure that all technical aspects of the project will go smoothly.

Logo creation
Great branding is existentially important to every business and especially so for anyone in any art. A well designed logo is a crucial part of your branding efforts.
What is a “Logo”? Sometimes it is an image (or icon), sometimes a text treated in a stylized, usually unique manner, sometimes it is an image associated with stylized text, and sometimes the text itself becomes an image / icon. (Think of the most famous cola drink!)
In any case, a Logo should be distinctive and its symbolic meaning should clearly define the person or entity it represents.
Unlike a highly structured thing like a website, a Logo, by nature, does not lend itself to a templated approach. As such, please recognize that Logo design can take time to create and refine.
When you ask us to create a Logo for you, after discussing what your image should be, there is a nominal “In Ernest Fee” of $300 to create four different “pencil sketch” options for you to consider.
If there is a Logo that you are satisfied with, upon your authorization, we will finalize that design and prepare it in a number of presentation formats, both physical (printed in high resolution with treatment notes such as PMS colors and treatment examples) and electronic (JPG, SVG, and PDF).
On receipt of the balance of our quoted fee we will electronically deliver the finished artwork to you.
Please note that if none of the four initial designs meet your satisfaction, for $200 more you may request significant changes or, alternatively, authorize us to create an additional set of four new designs.
If for some reason none of the offered designs satisfy you, please understand that we reserve the right to retain the In Ernest Fee.
Our base price for a Logo starts at $1,000 and all In Ernest Fees will be subtracted from that total. (Costs of materials and postage are in addition to the total fee.)

There are circumstances that happen where, all at once, you need a Logo designed, a website created, and a full suite of business print items such as a business card and letterhead. We are ready to help you with all of the above in any combination and we will be happy to negotiate a fee for these services. Our hourly rate is $50, the basis of our negotiated fees.
